Book Summary:

When the immortal race of the Fae destroyed the ancient wall dividing the worlds of Man and Faery, the very fabric of the universe was damaged and now Earth is vanishing bit by bit. Only the long-lost Song of Making—a haunting, dangerous melody that is the source of all life itself—can save the planet.

But those who seek the mythic Song—Mac, Barrons, Ryodan and Jada—must contend with old wounds and new enemies, passions that burn hot and hunger for vengeance that runs deep. The challenges are many: The Keltar at war with nine immortals who’ve secretly ruled Dublin for eons, Mac and Jada hunted by the masses, the Seelie queen nowhere to be found, and the most powerful Unseelie prince in all creation determined to rule both Fae and Man. Now the task of solving the ancient riddle of the Song of Making falls to a band of deadly warriors divided among—and within—themselves.

Once a normal city possessing a touch of ancient magic, Dublin is now a treacherously magical city with only a touch of normal. And in those war-torn streets, Mac will come face to face with her most savage enemy yet: herself.

Book Review:

This was a good installment of this series. I totally loved how Mac and Jada view points were front and center and we were not given every character having a view point. One thing that stands out to me is how everyone has different ideas on how to accomplish what they need to.

One thing that I really found myself enjoying was how everybody has something that they want to accomplish and is dealing with their own issues.
I mean Mac and Jada both need the men in their lives Barron and Ryodan. Jada doesn’t want to be treated like she is still Dani, but rather who she is now. I definitely like how Dancer tells everybody off and to just accept Jada/Dani as who she is. Plus there is the case of the fact that they have a missing highlander, now one of the Nine, now Ten you could say. I like how Christian doesn’t trust Mac, Mac needs him and makes a deal with him. There are a lot of interesting things that happen. I like the twists and turns.

Plus Mac being invisible is great until some group lead by Jayne turns their sights on her. I kind of like how they almost chase her and Mac learns that she is not in danger. She also gets upset when she finds out that Dani/Jada wrote a newspaper that put her in harms way. Also someone also made Dani/Jada a target as well. This doesn’t bode well for either of them. Barron's and Ryodan, get into some heated arguments over their respective girlfriends. I do like how Mac and Jada/Dani point of view changes in the book more so in this one than I did in the last book. I also like how everybody wants the book and Mac has the book inside of her, but there is a creature watching things. Maybe possibly even manipulating things to suit their own needs.

The other thing I like is how Jada/Dani and Ryodan, have some heated conversations. Jada wants to be the one in charge of Ryodan, but he is not going to let her do that, so she has to trick him in some way. He also wants to Tattoo her, so if she gets in trouble, he can find her, and what has happened to her, doesn’t happen again. This is so he can find her and lets say that Jada/Dani happens to do that a lot.

Also at the abbey, there’s a fire. We also get introduced to a new character called Shazam (Sorry when I hear this name, I think of DC’s Shazam or in the Golden Age was known as Captain Marvel). This character comes to Dani. Ryoden theorizes that Jada/Dani might have had a kid while she was in the silvers because of the way she went after a teddy bear and has a nervous breakdown.

Mac is also wrestling with the book wanting to take control of things. The book is like something that is nestled in a place far away like a lid closing. She doesn’t want to mess with the book. The Book scares her. She feels like it might want to take control of her.  Mac tells Barrons if the book ever possess her to do whatever it takes. He tells her that will not happen. I just love Barrons so much.

The way this book turns and twists is very interesting. Of course both Jada/Dani and Mac get kidnap and things go from bad to worse as this book ends with the one thing that you never see coming and is going to lead right into the next book in the series. This book leaves us with a cliffhanger like the last few and makes me excited and scared to see what our characters will do next.
